One of the National Parks is found in the North East of Arusha Town, and it has an area of about 542 square kilometers. It was established in 1960, and it has a huge concentration of animals and vegetation. This Nation Park is divided into three zones.
Drive Through Arusha National Park
Zone 1: Ngurudoto Crater
The first zone is Ngurudoto Crater, where you can see a lot of mush and vegetation. You will also see different animals like buffalo from a birds eye view.
Zone 2: Momela Lakes
The second zone you will visit is the Momela Lakes. Here you have two lakes that are attached. The small freshwater lake intersects with the alkaline lake.
You will find many water birds at the alkaline lake like flamingos, ducks, pelicans, stilts, skimmers, etc. In the freshwater lake, you will be able to see hippos and freshwater birds.
Zone 2: Mount Meru
The third zone is Mount Meru crater. This is an inactive volcano which is 4,566 meters above sea level. At the bottom of the mountain, there are giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes, and warthogs. Baboons, elephants, gueresta monkeys, and porcupines live further up the mountain.
You will also have the opportunity to hike up the mountain and see the animals up-close. You will walk up the mountain until you and your friends are tired.
